Boost your email deliverability rates with this trick

Avoid sending emails to contacts that don't want them

Have you ever wondered why your email engagement rate has dropped, why your open rates are decreasing, and why some emails end up in spam folders?

If you’ve experienced any of the above, it may be time for you to clean up your contact list so you can get your email marketing strategy back on track.

Autopilot has a built-in feature that makes it easy to automatically unsubscribe contacts that haven’t engaged with your recent email sends. A contact is considered to be engaged when they have opened, clicked, or replied to an email. Autopilot’s Sunset Policy gives you the ability to automatically recognize if a contact hasn’t engaged with any sent email content over a select period of time.

Email providers often learn what incoming content matters to the reader, and if they’re ignoring your emails, you could end up in more and more spam folders. Enabling this feature in your account will ensure you’re only sending emails to contacts that actually want to see them — and this can boost your deliverability rates.

Re-engage with contacts down the track

Here, we look at how to set up and adjust the Sunset Policy feature to best suit your business needs, and how to re-engage with contacts that were opted out of emails due to the Sunset Policy.

As these contacts have not actively unsubscribed from your content, you can reach out to them for a second chance at re-engaging them. It’s important to remember that no matter what your sunset settings are, these contacts were unsubscribed due to a lack of engagement, so we recommend not going overboard with your re-engagement strategy.
